HOPE Church started with a small group of Chinese-American believers fellowshipping together at a home in North County San Diego nearly two decades ago. Today, the Lord has brough more than 250 people from all ages and backgrounds into our church family. Here is our story
Three families started a North County San Diego Christian small group.
-1998 The small group members grew steadily as families gathered for dinner, with sister Lucy taking care of the children ministry and Pastor Chiang leading the Bible studies. Several people accepted Christ as their Savior and received baptism during this two-year period.
Our numbers grew to 30-40 adults and 20 children.
We started a San Diego North County ministry prayer meeting on Fridays with around 20 faithful prayer warriors.
EFC San Diego deacons' board approved to support the San Diego North County congregation as a sister church with the eventual goal of becoming a standalone church.
San Diego North County congregation becomes HOPE Church. We signed a leasing agreement with First Baptist Church of Oceanside and started the first official HOPE Church sunday service on the first sunday of September 2002.
- 2004 HOPE Church grew steadily as many came to Christ and the co-worker team worked in unity.
HOPE Church entered into a new chapter as we moved to the city of Encinitas and outreached many Chinese-American non-believers and young families around the area. Coastline Community Church in Encinitas offered their facilities for our use as we expanded our ministry's scope and vision.
HOPE Church purchased and moved into its own (current) Encinitas campus location.
Expanded Encinitas campus with the addition of annex hall adjacent to main hall
Today, HOPE Church continues to serve the community, meeting the challenges and fulfilling our vision.
